The exhibition

Solid’Art, the Secours populaire solidarity fair

Launched in 2015 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Secours populaire, Solid’Art has continued to evolve and develop since then. This show, both artistic and supportive, has become an unmissable event organized each year in Lille, Paris and Montpellier.

Solid'Art mobilizes artists from a region (painters, sculptors, photographers, visual artists, street artists, etc.) in order to support artistic creation and the solidarity actions of Secours populaire. The funds collected during the show are directed towards the association's holiday campaign: each work purchased allows a child to go on holiday!

After its beginnings in Lille, first at the Palais Rameau then in the majestic Hôtel de Ville, the show spread throughout France, with first an edition in Montpellier, at the Zénith Sud, then in Marseille, and finally in Paris, at the Carreau du Temple. A unifying and supportive event, Solid'Art offers a demanding and multidisciplinary offer to the audiences it welcomes (with around a hundred exhibitors for each edition). This approach is supported by the choice of the different presidents and members of the artistic committees of each show. All are key cultural players in their geographical area, thus ensuring the personality of the edition according to the territory. Thus, we find Bruno Gaudichon, curator of the Musée de la Piscine in Roubaix, at the presidency of the Lille edition, Numa Hambursin, director of MO.CO in Montpellier, or even Sébastien Cavalier, president of “Pass Culture” for the Parisian edition. Florian Neveu, curator of the Solid'Art fairs, ensures cohesion and continuity for all editions.

Solid'Art emphasizes the relationship between artists and the public through several events within the show. Free for artists and the public, and offering a wide price range, this formula promotes openness to a wide audience, in line with the cause supported. Workshops and performances support the desire for exchange between the public and the artists.
For each edition, a recognized artist sponsors the event. It will be Hom Nguyen in Paris, the performance painter Sandrot in Lille and the street artist JonOne in Montpellier. With an ambitious solidarity approach, and artists involved in its development, this 2024 season of Solid'Art promises to be an event where culture and solidarity combine for an event which has to offer, through its generosity, so much to its public as well as the beneficiaries of its action.
