François Boisrond. Une rétrospective
The exhibition
François Boisrond, the painting in all things
"This retrospective is a good opportunity, it's a turning point for me", explains in his deep voice the one who, having left Paris for the green countryside of the Orne in recent years, has just handed in his apron as a teacher at the Beaux-Arts de Paris after 22 years of teaching "without thinking that he had anything special to pass on, but where the arrival of a young generation of painters was an apotheosis". For if the fulgurating free figuration, in which he participated in the early 1980s alongside Hervé di Rosa, Robert Combas or Remy Blanchard, has made him widely known, it is to watch and learn from the painting and its long history that he has been working since then, as evidenced by his latest paintings, staging the lives of saints where the spectrum and halos of Georges de La Tour are superimposed on the staging of contemporary life filtered by the digital image.
