"The line-reserve relationship questions two subjects that seem fundamental to me. On the one hand, the "representation of emptiness": I painted for more than ten years the days of lace to understand how this emptiness can take plastic form! And then, the subtle vibration that must exist in painting between the subject and the background: what Braque called the Entre. On the other hand, the border between figuration and abstraction is tenuous... It is basically the viewer who decides."
