Born in Mongolia, Odonchimeg Davaadorj left her native country at the age of 17 to live in the Czech Republic before beginning her artistic studies in Paris. Throughout her career, drawing has remained her preferred medium while allowing fashion and literature to inspire her approach. Her practice as a poet, writing in several languages including French, is not to be dissociated from her plastic work. Indeed, it is entirely reflected in her lyrical and subtle creations. A surreal and poetic universe is suggested to us, where dreams, desires and realities mix and mingle. Mixing with the lines of Indian ink while extending the drawing, the threads, sewn, embroidered, disturb the delimitation between the textile and the graphic, adding to the dreamlike character of the work. The intervention of the thread in relief adds a tactile aspect to the image, tracing strong links while making account of their fragility. Sometimes what leads us to dream is hanging by a thread."
