With a degree in interior architecture and philosophy, Barbara Navi decided to devote herself exclusively to painting in the early 2000s. She herself describes her work as drawing on different iconographic materials; drawings, photographs and films, both from the flow of the Internet and from her own research. Linking each of these elements in a free-association manner, Barbara Navi develops a contrasting visual identity, mixing the familiar with the mysterious, the real with the absurd. Places and faces are mixed with mythological and literary references to create a singular pictorial space, in which different realities are superimposed. His work has been the subject of numerous group and solo exhibitions. The most recent ones, Fever at Galerie H and Extime at Galerie Belem, two Parisian galleries, bear witness to a body of work that brings together different views, different intimacies. His work will be featured in October 2022 at the art centre À Cent Mètres du Centre du Monde in Perpignan.
