Yannick Lepape

A graduate of the École normale supérieure, and a doctor of the École des hautes études en sciences sociales, Yannick Lepape is now an engineer of cultural and heritage services (Ministry of Culture and Communication), and has been working at the Musée d'Orsay since 2008, where he is in charge of questions relating to the cultural policy of the establishment. Author of L'image subtile. Jeux visuels et manipulations de l'image dans l'art de l'Antiquité (L'Harmattan, collection "L'Art en bref", 2009), he is a frequent contributor to the journal Histoire antique and has published extensively on current events in museums and exhibitions in France and abroad. He is currently pursuing research on the museification of heritage, particularly in the nineteenth century, with the primary concern being the impact that the "museumization" of works of art has on their reception, their understanding, and even their very nature.
