Yazid Oulab invents tools to unearth the roots of words and materials. The means of creation are broken down into raw materials: linen, wood and the hair of the brush form new sets. Canvas and raw colour are assembled and take on the form of a codex, when the painted books turn the illustrative history of painting inside out and become illegible, the words obscured by colour. The coloured canvases assembled in bundles are above all folds, spaces as unbreakable as that which separates theory and practice.
