Bernard Moninot. Le dessin élargi
The exhibition
Bernard Moninot, ideas like waves
Blending science with the unconscious and intuition, Moninot is an artist of oxymoron as well as synesthesia - he intends to translate words by forms or silence by a shadow. At the Hospice Saint-Roch museum, after an exhibition at the Domaine de Kerguéhennec this summer, his installation Ensecrètement presents a transparent silk room where suspended elements mechanically set in motion are alternately illuminated and projected into the surrounding space. Presented at the Jean Fournier Gallery in 2020, this matrix work bears at its heart a phrase he owes to his just-deceased friend Jean-Luc Nancy, summing up the ambition of his work: "The strange memory of what has never settled in a memory."
Extract from the article by Emma Noyant published in the N°98 of the issue Art Absolument.
