The exhibition

Ernest Pignon-Ernest, the incomparable

It is obviously no coincidence that poetry, the poets whose portraits he has drawn, have always accompanied the work of Ernest Pignon-Ernest. From Rimbaud to Neruda, from Pasolini to Desnos, from Genet to Artaud, from Jacques Stephen Alexis to Nerval... No doubt because he is convinced, as Nathalie Sarraute wrote, that "poetry, in a work, is what makes the invisible appear. It is this invisible that he reveals with his serigraphs immersed on the walls, with these sheets of newspaper carried away in a few weeks by the malevolence which lacerates them and the rain which resorbs them.
