Guy de Rougemont, eclectic explorer
“I am a painter: my sculpture, my furniture, my carpets are from a painter…” Thus speaks the one who knows everything (well) and who, all his life, off Matisse, knew how to renew his very various modes of expression. Because Guy de Rougemont has explored everything from incandescent canvas to a monacal stool, and tapestry to design, as shown in a dense retrospective at the Bouvet Ladubay contemporary art centre for its thirty years of existence, notably marked by the arrival of Arroyo, Jean Le Gac, Jacques Monory or Peter Klasen.
