Of Syrian Kurdish origin, Bahram Hajou arrived in West Germany in 1976 at the age of 24, after a journey that took him to Baghdad, Prague and East Berlin. He made his mark on the art scene in his adopted country in the 1980s, before acquiring international stature, and now divides his time between Münster and New York. From May 11 to June 17, 2023, Galerie GNG presents a selection of paintings by this great neo-expressionist artist, rarely exhibited in France.
