After Brest and Turin, and before Paris with the Marcel Duchamp Prize at the end of the year and a major exhibition at the Jeu de Paume in early 2024, Power Coron in Lens represents a return to an original territory for Bertille Bak: the old mines of Pas-de-Calais, where she grew up and where her own grandfather used to go to work. This anchorage is all the more matricial in that, from the outset, the artist has never ceased to involve her family and the inhabitants of the surrounding mining towns.
