Should we see a farewell to the world or an ode to joy in the ultimate work of geniuses struck by lightning? This is the question raised by Orsay's ground-breaking exhibition devoted to Van Gogh's last months in Auvers, and revealed by the retrospective of paintings rarely or never shown in France devoted by MAM to de Staël and his last works in Antibes. Can we imagine Van Gogh and Staël being happy?
