Dressed in his eternal pyjamas, he never ceases to represent himself, alone or with his family, or even the members of his family, in improbable sketches whose narrative context he leaves to the viewer to imagine. Whether he draws on a sheet of paper, a piece of stone, or even one of his own childhood drawings, Fabien Mérelle's work balances between absurdity, environmental awareness and reflection on the fragility of the human condition. The images he invents for himself and the way in which they come about are the result of a world perspective that ranges from the intimate to the universal. His approach is absolutely unique and invites us to take a closer look, without ever depriving ourselves of humour or poetry.
