Stéphane Blanquet has been active on the art scene since the late 1980s. His work includes, among other things, the design and realisation of installations, the realisation of artworks, urban art, cinema, theatre, independent publishing, art direction

He often cites a memory : as a child, he watched the film The Strange Creature from the Black Lake in 3D on television with his grandparents. This was the beginning of his interest in popular culture : illustrated books, pranks, magic tricks, fairground art and optical illusions.

At a very young age, Blanquet became "one of the most typical and eminent graphic artists ". His graphic works were exhibited at the Regard Moderne (1993 and 1996, Paris, France) , in the USA at the Cartoon Art Museum (San Francisco) ... and were published by numerous magazines: Atomix, Le Dernier Cri, BLAB! (en), Ax... His work as a publisher with Chacal Puant and La Monstrueuse has also been recognised: in 1996, he received the Alph Art for fanzine at Angoulême. He is published in the United States by Monte Beauchamp, Last Gasp and Fantagraphics Books.
