Côté jardin. De Monet à Bonnard
The exhibition
In Giverny, the Impressionists and Nabis confront their vision of gardens. Bonnard, who loves frenzied and vibrant light, plays a major role in his new illustration of the theme. He approached abstract painting: the near and the far merge, the exterior and the lived space become one, the colour field is autonomous. Large coloured patches stand out, and the eye travels through the entire space of the canvas. Vibrant and liberated, the colours, as with Vuillard, live their own life.
